As the seasons change I like to take a moment to plan my wardrobe for the next few months. I try to look ahead and see what kind of clothing I will need and prepare a shopping list. I also use this time to pack away any clothes that don’t suit the weather or upcoming activities. This is also when I edit my wardrobe and give away clothes that I no longer wear regularly.
For this upcoming winter season, I know I’ll need warm clothing as its set to snow regularly. I’ll need items of clothing that will be practical and sturdy. But, I also want to have fun this season in my fashion choices. Lately I’ve been drawn to funkier, vintage looks, like from the 60s and 70s. I want to highlight some of the pieces I already own, like my vintage suede shearling coat, thrifted sweaters, and shoes, but I will need some new pieces to freshen up my collection and inspire new ways of wearing them.
This season I’m loving loafers, leather, and silk. The color focus for me will be black, white, brown, and copper. Textures will include suede, silk, and knits. Turtlenecks will be essential for layering under sweaters and dresses. Jeans and trousers will be cuffed for a cropped look, showing off ankles and socks. SHirts and sweaters are tucked in with a belt to cinch in the waist. Its very sunny here in the winter, so a pair of funky sunglasses is practical as well as fun.
I recently purchased some black loafers from the thrift store and a friend gifted me a purple leather jacket that I plan on embroidering with flowers myself! I’m currently sporting a chin-length bob that I’m excited to style in different ways. My new bob has a retro feel that will pair well with any of the outfits on my mood board. I want to try a new hair color this season, maybe a dark green! I think this season could be an excellent time to showcase more of my hats and scarves!
My list of items to find include:
-a silk slipdress
-snakeskin boots
-funky sunglasses
-stackable rings
-white denim jeans
-black turtleneck
-vintage handbag
