It’s nearing the autumn season and everyone is preparing. My local coffee shop has already started serving pumpkin spice lattes! However, it’s still summer weather here in Colorado with 90 F/32 C temperatures during the day! I wanted to put together a look book for end of summer that can transition into autumn once the cooler temps creep in. I’ve been loving the look of larger button down shirts, worn on their own, but also layered over tanks and dresses. It’s just too hot for a cardigan right now, but a lightweight, oversized shirt is just perfect! I’ve been seeing the Hermes Oran Sandal everywhere in fashion photos and the h-shape front looks so classy and simple. I’d love to find a pair of similar looking sandals but for a fraction of the price! Another staple I’ve been using all summer is a large tote bag. I can fit all my belongings including my laptop and I can just throw it in the wash when it gets dirty, which happens often because I take it everywhere with me! Another trend I’ve been seeing a lot of is the sweater vest. I like the look of a more oversized fit that can be layered with shirts. It may still be too warm here to wear it now, but I’m going to be looking out for some at the second-hand shops to add to my wardrobe. I’ll also be on the lookout for any gingham patterned clothing – there’s something homey and nostalgic about it and it’s a great way to add some pattern to my looks. I’ve also recently discovered that I look great in the color red and I would love to incorporate some pops of red into my autumn wardrobe as well. Another style that I think would be great for hot autumn days are slip dresses. Once it starts cooling off, I can simply add some layers and still look stylish.
